There may be an outside chance of processing error, but for the most part, there won't be. If the resultant timing is slow here, fast there, Oh, it's you.Ģ. I hate Quantization, and only use it if I lock on to an intentional audio groove quantize.ġ. Not that it even makes difference, but it's there enough that it should be fixed.mind you, sometimes I'm either intentially ahead or lagging purposely, groove depending. Ehhr emmm up until I listen back, and millisec's here early or late. Thanks in advance for any thoughts you might have.ĭitto that. not the last version (yet).the one before that. MIDI PATCHBAY LATENCY 64 BIT
I've already followed the 'standard list' for setting up a Windows 10 Pro 64 bit PC for audio / video work. When recording I have all S1 plugins shut off. I've just started tracking this problem down, so any and all ideas are welcome. I'm looking for ideas about what that might be from you all. Unless there is something within Studio One itself that might cause it. Maybe as it does something and then shuts off doing something. What I am thinking is that maybe something else is running in the background on the machine that is causing this variability. been playing 50+ years and some as a FT pro). can I be THAT far off in my perception? (Reference. I'm not perfect as a drummer by any means. it sounds well off in the section I was feeling like was totally nailed. In the cases I'm mentioning, I can feel "in the pocket" on a section. Typically, if I'm a bit "off", I know it as I'm playing. that is not what I am hearing via the headphones when I am playing the piece. And that of course is possible, for sure. it is ME that's the source of the problem. sometimes it is just running spot on for a long while. Both can happen in the same piece in different places.

Sometimes on the same track it shows the drums a hair ahead of the click. there are some sections in a given few minute piece that are clearly recording off of the beat/click. What is happening is that when I record a piece (I'm mainly a drummer), when I play back the recording most of the recording shows the drums are sitting right in sync with the click track (or the beat of the other instruments). this is dangerous, I know) that what is going on as the source of the issue here is somehow the latency during record is varying just slightly. Need some thoughts of avenues to look into.
